The Green 'C'
Communications Excellence
In 1961, the Radiomen and Signalmen of the Currituck received the Communications Excellence Award.
The men were given patches, a green C, to be worn. The photos below show it on a Peacoat. This coat belongs to John Lipot SM2. In submitting these, he also says;
Also in 61 we were named the fanciest Signal Bridge in the Fleet in Stars and Stripes. All those "turks heads" fancy lacing, rope rugs and mats, and of course all the brass we had chromed in Okinawa.
The green C was also painted on the stack.
Thanks John, for sharing this.
