from Mike Foster, son of the late Norton C. Foster, Lt, USS Currituck AV-7

Mike has scanned these photos from his Dads collection that he took while aboard the Currituck in the 1940's in the Pacific Theatre during WWll.
Some have water damage and have faded over time, but still reflect the events of that era. Many thanks to Mike for sharing these memories.
Norton Foster was an Aerographer. AG - Aerographer's Mate AGs are the Navy's weather forecasters. They are trained in meteorology and the use of aerological instruments that monitor air pressure, temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction. They also prepare weather maps and forecasts and analyze atmospheric conditions to determine the best flight levels for aircraft. An AG may also measure wind and air density to aid the accuracy of antiaircraft firing, shore bombardment and delivery of weapons by aircraft.
