Dec 18 08 while looking around in an old garage in Imperial Beach for some small parts I came upon a small medallion with a small silver chain -
the medaillion reads:
USS Currituck AV-7 The Blue Goose
It has on it the image of the flying bird that appears as the back ground on your photos here on the net. I have no idea of its history. If it is of any significance to your history group email me and I will send it on to you.

I was air force 1957-1961.
It was from Ernie Griffes in San Diego. I responded to Ernie and he sent the medallion. If any may know of any history about it, it would be nice to include that with the photos of the medallion below.
The first pic is as I received it in the mail. I cleaned it as shown in the second pic. The medallion is a bit larger than a quarter, but smaller than a half dollar. The reverse side is plain, with no engraving.
