NEW While it may be controversial to some, nonetheless, I choose to post here from a Currituck shipmate who was aboard in WWll, thirty photographs taken by a Japanese Soldier taken during the war. There is further explanation at the head of the album. I hope you find this look into history as interesting as I did.

NEW Here are 210 photos of the Currituck in WWll.This opens in a new window. Click thumbnail for larger photo.

NEW Over a hundred photos from 1946-47 and Operation Highjump.

NEW Close to 190 photos by the crewmembers of the Currituck, taken during the 1960's.
While some may be repeats of pics on other pages, most are new, showing the sights in the Far East.
Take a walk down Memory Lane, and thanks to all who submitted photos.
The page will open as a new page.

Due to problems with the guestbook on another server, it has been moved to the USS Currituck server. Those entries in that book can be seen here. Previous entries from years prior are here.
A new guestbook can be accessed from the above menu..

The USS Currituck web site is dedicated to the men who served aboard the Wild Goose and the Seaplane Squadrons she tended.
There are many photos on the site, and all are encouraged to submit more should you wish to. The site includes much history of the Currituck and some letters and diaries from and by shipmates.
The guest book from past years has been preserved in text format and may be searched to find old friends. Please be aware though, that some of the e-mail addresses may now be obsolete. If anyone would like to update an address in the old guest book, send an e-mail to the address shown at the bottom of this page.
Many of the photos here are Navy photographs, but some are personal photos by crew members and may be copywrite by them. They are used here by permission. Some photos are large in size and may take time to download.
Thank you for visiting, and it is hoped you will enjoy some of the past.

Please note this site uses JAVA. If you may get some errors, please check for the latest Java update here.

In recognition...
Thank you all, who have submitted photos and information.
My Thanks and Deep Appreciation to Stephen Eakin, Historian who spent much time researching and scanning many of the photographs used.
And much Thanks to my Friend and Shipmate, Joe Peake, who put me in touch with Stephen.
Just to go one step further, none would have been possible without the efforts of the people of the USS Currituck Assoc. Their dedication and hard work to locate former crew members are greatly appreciated by all.
Last, but not least, Thanks to an 'ol Navy Chief and Ham Radio Operator who first told me of the Currituck Association, via Ham Radio, KB5UFQ, Irwin B. Barnes, US Navy, Ret. (now Silent Key)
